All is true, Steven. As I commented yesterday, someone needs to take on the responsibility of finding this "anonymous" person and put him/her under the jail. They are calling for stamping us out because we cannot accept the LIE. Let's start threatening them back, but wait, we're really not built that way, are we? We would rather agree to disagree, which is the basis of a democracy. Then again, the real basis of democracy is the vote. Why else would these Trump minions be trying to take the vote away? They know democracy's Achilles heel and they are trying to destroy that real power. I don't think they can, but this is their ploy, and it has worked through the years in other countries so why not here? Not here because we will stand to vote, regardless of the barriers they put up. There are too many instances over the past few years where voters have made changes, and the shining hope was present in Kansas - a red state. WOW! You know that Trumplicans are worried when Moscow Mitch pulls his PAC out of Arizona. WHAT? He even commented on the fact that Trumplican candidates are "not qualified." DUH!

What a deplorably sad state of affairs, Steven. What you have described is damning evidence of the Republicans' unspoken agenda of ensuring that the mass of the population is kept barely educated - enough only to work in their factories or to fight their wars.

What is especially galling is that mainstream religious leaders are not stepping forward to denounce the evil that has this nation in a chokehold. But those high priests, of course, benefit from the very same agenda so why would they?

The DoJ has to indict Trump - or it will be giving tacit approval to his criminality.

We simply have to win the midterms.

I am so sorry you have to endure the insane wrath of these inane people. I fear we have lost the war.

I am truly sad but I will never give up.

I appreciate your continued fight for our democracy. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Refreshing our memory of U.S. history will give us a better understanding of where all this garbage of persecuted, agrieved, cancel cultured, whataboutism is coming from. I'm reading a book by one of our fellows, Heather Cox Richardson, titled 'How The South Won The Civil War.' It is fascinating to see the parallels of history and what we are experiencing today in real time. These poor souls who seem to be clueless as to reality are the same people the captains of industry and commerce always convince to vote against their own best interest. They suck it up like mud puppies.

Credulity. Their masters depend on it and cultivate it.

Thanx for another good article. It's good to know all of us libtards are on the same page.

Woke?

[edit]

The lying hypocritical Republicans who bloviate about their love for military and their constiturnts, without fail vote against all legislation that would be good for us all. Our Veterans should never have to ask a second time for the assistance they are due, but the Republicans legislators to a man/woman vote against it.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable piece of writing. I’m actually thinking of framing it!

Reading your message today isn't the first time I've questioned this but what was the mindset of these loud, obnoxious, 'craven', dangerous, thriving-on-lies cultists before they were...cultists? Given the scope of the GOP in general-bc NONE OF THEM will speak truth to power (Cheney and Kinsinger, well, we know they won't be in office after this term)-it seems their end game is to be thuggish, exclusive, worse-than-misogynistic, and cause harm or death to those who oppose them. Regressive should be their new party name.

So many of these people feel like outcasts, not really accepted with grace in society. This makes them a part of a group, a place to belong with people like them. So, rally around the donald, boys. Birds of a feather stick together.
