Seems to me that there is a big difference from a protest vote intended to send a message to the person you'd prefer to vote for, and one sent to say simply "I don't like you, so much I will vote instead for someone who is sure to lose."

Most of the media continue to observe the singular goal of evenhandedness between Trump and Biden. If someone said Nazi were good, that Germany won WWII and that the moon was made of cheese, many of the media would either give it equal coverage these days, or fail to critique fellow media. .

Apparently, an 'uncommitted' vote in primaries is not uncommon.

Obama's uncommitted vote was 87%, uncommitted was 13%. Less uncommitted than Biden, but not by that much.

Message received, and heard. Biden is sincerely trying to find a humane way forward in the Middle East.

The moral of the story is, you/we/us/me cannot read/watch/listen to only one source of information. This is more true with what is currently called 'right-wing media', but it is simply a truth. With the peril we are under now, the complexity of the maneuvering of the coup crowd, and the low quality and courage of people elected to public office it is best to get your information from many sources. And, if we convince enough people to not trust any media, like the person below , we are doomed.

What suggestions does anyone have to fix this problem? I try reading a variety of sources including The Guardian to get some outside perspective. Listening to NPR and the BBC helps too.

I read somewhere that there usually is an undesided vote in Michigan. Does the Times actually want Trump to win?
