Trump’s not just an “ordinary” criminal, of course. He’s a seditious traitor who has tried to overthrow an election, publicly disavowed the Constitution, and has vowed vengeance on everyone who opposes him. He’s not just a national disgrace. He’s the most dangerous man/person in America.

He actually may be the most dangerous man in the WORLD. Who knows, other than this seditious traitor, what classified documents were shared and with whom? >>Chinese philosopher Sun Tzu said, "An evil man will burn his own nation to the ground to rule over the ashes."<

Thank you for your forthright words challenging the cowardly subservience of CNN.

They don't even realize what will happen to them if Trump wins.

Their passive masochistic surrender to him

and promotion of him shocks me.

It is totally irresponsible to treat a fascist as a legitimate candidate.

They have now provided him with the sheen of acceptability in their public forum

This is a serious capitulation/surrender by the forces of democracy.

This should set off our alarm bells.

No one is holding the line.

She won’t be allowed to “go hard” on Trump I’m sorry to say. CNN wants to appear “even handed” and going hard just doesn’t promote this appearance. Just ask Don Lemon. I won’t be watching.

How about if we state publicly in this and other Substack forums: “I won’t be watching!”

The media coverage of this despicable person is ridiculous! I was excited to imagine tfg would fade away after the last election. It’s him every day all of the time. Sick to death of all of it! Good grief!

The MEDIA has been Trump's greatest asset and ally. He manages, even in disgrace, to direct and control some of the daily narrative. That Chris Licht, CEO of CNN, has set up a televised Trump hour speaks volumes about the inferno of ethics and morals at CNN. Leni Riefenstahl would be flattered and honored. This burn-the-house-down moment wreaks of pernicious vapors.

American media was djt's Fifth Column

He played them then. He plays them now. He is one of the most nefarious persons on the planet, yet he gets constant celebrity. I am beginning to wonder just how many media groups are actually anti-American. Seriously. Giving audience to Satan is nothing to be proud of.

Spot on, Steven! I can only hope that your thoughts make it through to Kaitlin Collins, and the rest, on the awesome responsibility that the TV news anchors (and their bosses) share in the future of our democracy.

But I doubt it. This is one of many similar comments on twitter regarding Kaitlin Collins:

“Pretty stunning that Kaitlin Collins previously served as White House correspondent for Tucker Carlson’s extremist rightwing blog The Daily Caller before moving to CNN”

Didn’t know that--terrible background.

That explains quite a lot about why she’d want to host a “town hall” for a terrorist.

I have been thoroughly POd w MSM for their oversized roll in saddling us w DJT! One more time a corporation choosing the almighty dollar over the good of the nation!! FIE!🤬

Think what would have happened if they had treated him like all the other candidates! Especially not swept the grab ‘em by the pussy recording under the rug.

They (the MSM) should be ashamed of their part in the near demise of our democracy and we are still teetering on the edge!

Alas, it’s all about ratings/filthy lucre for the MSM. They cannot help themselves. Lord help us!

CNN and other media use Trump as a cash cow and he uses them for free publicity. It is a sickening and symbiotic relationship. Where are journalists who will pin him down, ask relevant and hard questions, even to the point of having him walk off set? That would be good for all to see the up close and ordinal bullying and bombast and infantile behavior that is Trump.

But if we really wanted to kill this sick relationship, we need to stop feeding it. Any network that carries his lies and bombast, boycott, vote with your feet and wallet. If people and companies cannot do that, we get what we deserve

The media played a big role in getting Trump elected. To this day, Trump is covered in every major print newspaper. The electronic media has finally stopped covering his ever word, move except Fox of course.

I stopped all of my subscriptions to NY Times Washington Post, and others. I signed up for substack journalists like Steve Beschloss who I respect and admire. It is unfortunate that our print media companies couldn’t figure out how to compete with social media and went the way of British media. I fear the days of “Watergate” reporting are a something of the past.

Let us give CNN a chance to do it right. Let's not condemn them until after the "show." I don't disagree with your position on the facts that the "Free" press did give the Donald a free pass in 2016, but we must remember that the MAGAs are still maybe 30% of the Republican electorate, and we will see how some of the fringe MAGAs don't fall off his list when the indictments turn into convictions. Now we hear that he might separate from the Republican Party. I am sure this would be a dream come true for Biden and the Dems, but that's the way Trump rolls, isn't it? He sees crowds at his rallies and he thinks he is ahead of everybody. The Dems may be able to get the House back and maybe a greater majority in the Senate if it decides to do this. Always an optimist, guardedly.

Nothing good can come if this. It will be a major sh*tshow with a acolyte of Tucker Carlson as the interviewer.

Someone raised the specter of Leni Riefenstahl- that’s an apt analogy for a Nazi icon like trump. I will never watch CNN again.

BAD move by CNN. All Trump has ever wanted is the limelight He will ignore the questions and proceed to spout his lies. They should fill the town hall time with a blank screen OR just video of January 6th.

Sadly, but true the mighty $ rules the roost. Hopefully CNN bears in mind that they can be an influence to keep the narrative of this and future “Town Halls” on a track that demands honesty and not be led down an alternate path chosen by the donald.

Have they offered similar free exposure to Pres. Biden with matching questions?

If CNN and other networks contribute to helping the donald led America on a path to a Fascist style government they and their families will have to live with their conscience, assuming they still have some now.

Absolutely spot on, Steven! We stopped cnn as go to some years ago. MSM must be diligent reporting facts & hard news, not letting some bloated dishonest FOP (friend of putin), insurectionist again become head of America.

A couple items I use in email signature block: Tom J: greatest danger to Amer freedom, govt that ignores Constitution" & "price democ is eternal vigilance." J. Adams: .May only honest men live under WH roof" finally, Teddy R: stand by Country not President"

Thanks for space to include above & keep up your tremendous work,

Who is going to stop CNN from promoting Trump? No one that's who. They see dollars signs and they will stampede to cover him at every turn. They do it today and they will do it tomorrow and forever for the almighty dollars and we won't be able to get ahead of it if every last one of us canvas for voters everyday from now until Nov. 2024, because of Citizens United and they know it. So now what?
