If what I heard of CNN reporting is true, that the indictments and arrest was put off for over a year while the prosecutor was given a cushy promotion by the former DOJ, it is not to hard of a correlation to assume that yes, in fact they are actually being given a clear signal that they will get away with it by those who are there to supposedly uphold our justice systems and law. Indeed, two sets of injustice systems where some are above the law is in fact corruption of the system itself and as a historian you know so well, is also the helping hand leading to the downfall of any ethical democracies. Your wisdom blesses me Michael and encourages me in sustaining my beliefs that yes, there are still good people taking up the torch, speaking truth to power and demanding accountabilty. From climate change, government, law, justice, economics, health, our vote, equality, education, civil rights along with our beliefs of learning from past mistakes toward our more perfect union. I often wonder, if President Lincoln could have somehow foreseen where we are now, if he would have just let the south go? I've read that 2/3 of southern Republicans want to secede. My first thought was, don't let the door hit you on the way out. I have lost so much respect for so many people, many of whom, I used to have just political policy differences with. Now, it's life and death moral differences. Their willful ignorance is going to destroy us all, either through the pandemic or the climate crisis. We are only as strong as our weakest link, and we've got way too many weak links, and that may not be sustainable. We'll see. Thank you again for your perspective.
