Been away from the computer for awhile so I’m trying to catch up on Beschloss’ essays... Here’s what I don’t get...aren’t our representatives supposed to Rep their constituents? If a majority of your constituents want background checks, then that’s how you should vote. This only works if your constituents are civic minded, only facts enter the discussion, people vote and have a basic understanding of fellow Americans realities. That’s not what we have. A majority of Americans are controlled by the minority in DC. It’s as if this is some sporting event to the Rep & winning is all that matters, even if it hurts Americans, our planet, our economy, our future. We need to rid all political offices of Reps that do not follow this belief. Until we purge the GQP, we will never have unity. So vote!

The hard part to remember is that supposedly so many oppose anything the democrats propose. Even if it’s helpful to those people, it’s treated like it’s wrong. I don’t know how to change that person who reaps benefits but votes for right wing extremists who are about objection, obscuring truth, outright support of liars & lies. I just don’t get it.
