We must not be silent in the face of these continuing abominations.

“In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousand fold in the future. When we neither punish nor reproach evildoers, we are not simply protecting their trivial old age, we are thereby ripping the foundations of justice from beneath new generations.” - Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn #

It's way past time to push back. This man has gotten away with everything his entire life, from his and his father's discriminatory rental practices to having his bond reduced (at least temporarily).

None of the rest of us would get this coddling by members our justice system. Too many of them have deferred to this cruel and weak bully, using the excuse that they don't want to appear motivated by political reasons.

It's not political to prosecute criminal activity -- fomenting an insurrection, stealing classified documents, threatening public servants, committing bank and insurance fraud, evading taxes, and accepting money from foreign governments.

How his supporters believe that he is "one of them" while some of them sit in jail for participating in the January 6 insurrection, who pay their bills and taxes like they should, and who would suffer legal consequences if they did any of the above-listed activities, is beyond my understanding.

To his followers: be very aware that he is not one of you. He would throw you under the bus without a second thought. He'd come after you just like he goes after whoever he doesn't like at any given moment. There will be no one left to help you then, and that will be your own doing.

Trump is so obviously sick in mind body and spirit. Why has no judge finally said enough is enough is enough is enough is enough is dangerous and everyone knows it but the right wing are exploiting that for their own purposes they know he's barely functioning mentally yet he is their ticket to power and they don't care how many people are destroyed in his wake.

Thank you Steven, I kinda needed a little optimism today. And thank goodness for people like you, and Rachel Maddow, Nicole Wallace and all the truth tellers for standing up for what’s right and good about our society! I know is there are still good people out there. The tRump cult is just louder and desperate and we all need to push back. He’s gotten away with so much, for so long, it’s about time he gets what he deserves!

As my late wife’s grandmother, a tough and determined Trinidadian, would say wagging her index finger, “As much as you like, but never as long as you like.” Trump has now reached the never as long as you like part.

When push comes to shove would be even better. Had that judge not reduced his bond would have shoved him off a cliff. Only money and property gets to him.

I'm glad to see these encouraging signs of "pushing back," but we need to carry this trend further when it comes to Trump. I'm afraid the Justice Department's approach toward him reminds me of a scene we've probably all experienced in a grocery store: A frazzled mom is trying to shop while her kid is making a fuss about some candy or cereal they want. She tries to quiet the kid, but the screaming and commotion continue. Eventually she says something to the effect of "This is the last time I'm going to tell you." And what happens? The kid keeps making a fuss. So the mom continues with her admonitions, maybe worded in different ways but all with the same effect: The kid continues carrying on. Finally, the frustrated mom buys her child the highly sugared, brightly colored cereal they were clamoring for, and the commotion finally stops (for now). Sound familiar?

Like the screaming child in a grocery store, Trump will keep pushing the boundaries as far as he can get away with. All the judges' admonitions and warnings and gag orders will mean nothing if they are not enforced. If this involved any other person than Trump, they would have been taken into custody and deprived of their smart phone long ago. As Trump continues with his attacks and threats, it's way past time for some consequences.

If he (and his duped followers) were not so dangerous, Trump would be pathetic. Probably warped from his childhood by his father’s misguided parenting, he goes through life with an ethos of the playground, spewing insults and demands. Twisting personal names (Shifty Schiff) is the behavior of an ill-mannered 8-year-old. I almost pity him—but not quite. I fear that there is no hope that he will do us a favor and just shut up.

Maybe this judge will have the balls to put Donny Boy in jail, where any of us would be if we said such hate filled lies as he does daily.

A thought about last night's meeting of the Presidents. I am afraid it looked elitist and not "for the people." I personally thought it was a great meeting, but why wasn't it aired more widely? Hopefully, snippets will come out during the campaign that will prove me wrong, but I did not see an effort to get to the people who are voting. Just say'n.

It has been a relatively good week for democracy. In addition to what Steven has written, a recent poll has the President polling better. One thing I’m curious about is, why did Judge Merchon exclude his family from the gag order? I understand about himself and the DA, but his family!

Well said! But why did we the people, the court, the dormant DOJ wait so long? Trump and the Right are taking advantage of a system too slow to react, while they are gaining grounds in their depraved mission. Why assigning Judge Cannon to judge…Trump? she is a Trump loyalist..married to a Trump donor loyalist which most likely is how she got her job as a judge? Am I the only one who feels that maybe we are helping a great deal in inflicting all these problems to ourselves?

It’s about time someone started pushing back against the flood of poisonous lies that have flooded all forms of media ever since tfg descended his lousy trump tower escalator. I know I’m not the only one sick of even his voice or the voices who insist on pushing his garbage. So I say let’s get out the road graders and get serious about pushing back the messes they’ve laid down all over our information highways.
