I truly believe that refugees are still welcome. Our policies need to be re-worked but ppl from the previous administration have made it close to impossible. Sabotaging the refugee Visa program just set is back many yrs. Biden shouldn’t be blamed for all of Afghanistan but being the leader is has put the entire responsibility on his shoulders. The trump administration needs to accept blame for 95% of what’s going down there. My heart is really broken knowing we have ppl in this country who don’t accept people of different colors other than white into this country. It proves America has never learned for on our mistakes.

#MDDOS 🙏 g d bless and to think some are still stuck on actually ingesting deworming animal meds, bleach or believe at least say they believe the covid vaccine makes silverware and keys stick to you. Omg, only the insane could make this crap up let alone actually believe it. If true at least we would never loose our keys or have to find our glasses when their on top of our heads or right in front of us. Thanks for always encouraging the/our 20/20 vision and hindsight. I really appreciate your wise duty to constitution and country.

We are watching in real time the collapse of a nation that would have never helped itself despite the US intervention. The hypocrisy of some to blatantly ignore the fact that TFG administration kept the Afghan government out of the withdrawal negotiations is all we need to know that once again, deflection is the game.

the question should be....will the world get together and help these people and open their doors to refugees also!!??

And let’s not forget who started this mess: Bush and Cheney….

The cries against this will still resound. Those republicans who supported TFG’s Afghanistan policy now blame this administration for their underhanded negotiations with the Taliban. This is only the beginning though. Climate change refugees will also increase in the coming years from famine, rising seas. It is not going to be pretty.

I’m not optimistic. Although we may be seeing some capitulation from right wing extremists on the vaccine, most of them remain irrational about almost every other issue. But, what we should keep in mind is, it’s actually a strategy. I’m not saying those who are irrational are knowingly participating in a strategy—they aren’t. They’re being manipulated to be irrational & angry and apparently, it’s frighteningly easy to do.

The authoritarian strategy seems to be to create as much chaos & confusion as possible & to continually throw out red herring issues to keep their base hyped up, like critical race theory which is NOT even taught in public schools…which reminds me, if you paid any attention to this particular red herring issue, the fact that it’s not being taught and is therefore a non-issue, doesn’t matter. Factual information has absolutely no value for the extremist crowd. They’ve been duped into believing it’s actually patriotic to be angry and resentful.

I really hope Afghanis can settle into new lives here without being targeted & vilified by extremists. The situation reminds me of what I said to my husband when I insisted we adopt a dog. I grew up with dogs, he didn’t. I told him that having a dog or two enriches our lives, just like traveling to other countries enriches our lives and gives us a new perspective. The same thing applies to people from other countries who come to America. They enrich our lives, if we’re open to it.
