Steven, I have started watching some tik toks that are really fun by activists. I never cease to be amazed at how much plowing the same old ground over and over does not work and is an energy waster. Trump? Who cares? Seriously. Biggest loser, failure, conman grifter and money launderer for a transnatl mafia. Trump is being run by Putin for Semion Mogilevich‼️FACT! Thru Deutsche bank. Remember Helsinki? Anytime I come out of the gate with what we all clearly know I get stamped with propaganda spreader not proven. I refuse to debate that. Suffice it to say I have been reading since 2015. You keep it real on twitter. That is why I follow you and subscribed. By the comments it seems people want to have sane balanced convos on these topics. The Judge Judy crowd will have to get over it. The traitors are all going to jail. It was several years after Nixon resigned b4 John Mitchell went to prison.

I think riclexcel is confusing comments on mature leadership with “daddy issues,” which is ludicrous as well as rude. The reason we still have to worry about Trump is because Russia is still pursuing their divide & conquer strategy here in the U.S. They obviously installed Trump in the White House in 2016 and he never stopped working on their behalf. What Russia had in Trump was a combination Russian asset in the most powerful position in the world and a bona fide corrupt bigot with serious mental deficiencies who was more than willing to elevate other corrupt bigots to help him dismantle our gov’t.

They almost got away with dismantling our gov’t and they’re still at it. I’ve been approached on twitter at least 3 times by what I believe to be either Russian operatives or useful idiots. It starts when I make a substantive comment about how many of our senators & representatives are being either paid or blackmailed by Russia to further Russia’s political goals.

Then I get a tweet in my feed telling me the U.S. has done some very bad things with a vague reference to an incident somewhere in the world. It’s the usual whataboutism similar to when a journalist referred to Putin as a “killer” and Trump responded that America has killed a lot of people too. I don’t waste much time on these people. I usually tell them I know what they’re doing and their efforts are lost on me. If they keep trying to convince me that my country doesn’t deserve my loyalty I tell them I’m old, I’ve done a lot and I’ve seen a lot. Then they disappear.

The only people taken in by such statements are usually younger, have some kind of personal beef against our federal government already or are white supremacists thrilled that they are getting some positive attention for their perfidy, even though it comes from foreign

operatives. White Supremacists revel in their hate. They are consumed by it, they are loyal to it, and to it alone.

But here’s why I’ve brought this up. If it’s happening to me, it’s happening to others.

We know it’s happened to many politicians. So it seems to me it would be a good idea

for some gov’t agency or NGO to create a list of ways foreign operatives try to gain a person’s trust and radicalize them and then post the list everywhere. Any other ideas?

Governments aren’t supposed to be flashy. They’re supposed to be functional, trusted almost pedantic.

BORING AFTER TRUMP IS A REAL PRESIDENT!!! THANK GOD FOR BIDEN!!!

I am thankful for a thoughtful President that some say is boring. I say he’s too busy to entertain everyone, but hey, the President is supposed to govern, not entertain. What I find hysterical is all the Reps that describe him as boring represent states that have been helped tremendously with Covid treatments, stimulus checks, etc. Pres. Biden & his team did not rec. the traditional cooperation of the entertainer/cheating golfer administration during the transition so he did not have time to glad hand with the minority. People were dying. It’s not about daddy issues, hugging it out or any such nonsense. It’s about the joy of having a President that is knowledgeable, literate, seeks expert counsel, knows the Constitution, follows the law & is focused on saving our democracy. Let’s not forget they once called him sleepy. He has done more for us in 24 hours then the former guy could do in 24 months. But why does the minority waste time calling our Pres. boring? They don’t want us to think about Jan. 6, or Rep. scandals, or Burr’s lying about the Mueller Report, Guiliani’s investigation, oh I could go on. But, instead I would rather be boring and just say goodnight!

Steven, I read all of your posts so far and refrained from commenting until I had a more full sense of your take. I disagree with your take, but like your writing. The theme that comes thru to me is an over-whelming need for a National Daddy, and the psychological-safe-space and comfort that comparison to FDR and the fireside chats brings. Granted, as a Gen Xer, my upbringing included divorce and a bad dad, so I don't have this weird daddy-complex that your writing comes across to me as full of. Your constant focus on style over substance of a President is out of touch and tone deaf to a population that doesn't really care what people say, it is what they do that matters. After I read one of your pieces, my take-away is that you need a big hug from Daddy to make all the bad monsters in your closet and under your bed to go away. It is patronizingly infantile. Please grow up.

thanks Ric -
