I, too, am a resident of the tri-state area and, like Rosie, I knew Donald Trump was a low life. He didn't prove me wrong after his dive into politics. He brought us to the brink of authoritarianism and his big lie is going to lead to more civil unrest. Personally, and as a member of the bar in good standing, I want to see him get his just desserts from a court of competent jurisdiction, civil or criminal.

I used to watch Rosie’s show every day after work & I remember how ugly it got. It was unbelievable to watch it unfold. I remember it started out as Rosie making this funny statement abt him. She’s a comic, that’s what she does. It was a joke & it wasn’t inappropriate. It was funny. He went ballistic contacting media outlets to slam Rosie, saying things that , if you followed her, you knew it was not true. She followed with the truth & tried to handle it professionally. He would not let go. I sat on the sofa saying “He’s flipping crazy. There’s something wrong with him.” My high school students would come into class & ask me questions abt how it was playing out because they were watching it at home & I always used stuff like this to show kids how to communicate & avoid these types of conflicts. It was such a hot topic for quite some time that I finally spent 1 day, with all my classes, going over how to handle these types of situations because they would encounter people in their lives like djt, how to spot the signs, how to exit the spat & avoid future interaction with these types of people. I admire Rosie. I’m proud of her accomplishments & the work she has done. She’s a positive person. He tried so hard, for too long, to break her spirit but she kept the comedy coming. I’m telling you, I had never seen anything on tv like this as it was playing out. But, she had super powers. So, Rosie, if you read this, I can guarantee you that any of my students from that year probably did not vote for him in 2016, if they recalled that lesson plan!

Rosie Speaking about the source of her values (which are also my values) made me start to think about the formation of mine. My father was a snake-oil salesman type, always looking for a deal and hiding from the bill collectors. I learned from him, how not to be. And, he never listened to anyone, including me. I felt powerless. Hence my values and why I speak up for those with no voice-the animals. This is probably of no interest to anyone out there but this article made me think of how I came to be me.

Retiring to bed on the evening of the 2016 election, I could not shake a feeling of horrible dread. How could it be that the election had not yet been called? The most experienced, qualified presidential candidate of my lifetime, Hillary Clinton (Attorney, hands-on First Lady of Arkansas, First Lady of the U.S., U.S. Senator, Secretary of State) was running against a morbidly lazy, ignorant, brain-deficient, vindictive entitled crybaby who could never morph into a president in ten thousand years. Hearing the news upon awaking in the morning, I felt GUTTED, I mean totally eviscerated! God, what were we in for? I had written several pointedly stark opinion letters prior to the election with terse warnings, but in my area, I just wasted the key strokes. Our congressman is a total teat-sucker, guised under the cloak of a Christian man with high family values and all the other hypocritical B.S. they spout. I continued to write negative, but true letters throughout the entire treasonous term. But, we are losing here. Trump signs and flags remain; I even saw a new one the other day, "Trump 2024 SAVE AMERICA AGAIN"!! Can you believe the IGNORANCE? I recently entered my eighth decade and consider myself so fortunate to have lived my life during the tiniest sliver of human history in a self-governing country striving against massive odds to provide lasting freedom and opportunity. I just pray that my grandchildren will be able to say the same.

Rosie is spot on. Anyone in the NY Metro area circa 1970's - 2000 knew 100% Trump was a crass fraudster. Respect to her for calling him out. As B. Walters, NY "hometown" papers, the likes of pre-fox Tucker and his side kick Willie Geist dragged her---- while many others stayed silent. That relatively minor event on the View would portend so much.
