Communications are crucial, and being considerate of others. These things alone would improve American Life

I’m just finishing the book, The Burglary, by Betty Medsger. Wow, Americans have been so unhappy for so long. Either miserably driven by fear to oppress others, fighting against wrongdoing, or suffering from the oppression of others. It’s a national attitude and consciousness. It clearly doesn’t need to be this way.

I am pretty happy on the Connecticut shoreline in a town where 20 percent of the land mass is conserved. I am getting ready to retire from a job that I've appreciated for 30 years (lawyer for the state), but I am looking forward to hiking, biking and skiing in the middle of the week. I have a network of friends who enjoy outdoor recreation like I do. I literally have spent every weekend hiking since March 2020. More time to spend with friends is also part of my retirement reward. Once both my kids are fully vaccinated, which will occur in a couple of weeks, our nuclear family can be reunited. My younger child lives on the west coast, which means we haven't seen him since Christmas 2019.

Limiting time gawking at electronic screens and reclaiming that time to immerse myself in the 3 dimensional world. Spending time in nature is the most powerful reset there is.

Cooking a wonderful meal comes in a close second. Making room for peaceful, joyful moments

is a way to heal and restore. Then we can be a part of the solution and help solve the problems.
