Yes, we must really push voters to vote down ballot. I’m amazed at the # of voters that vote for only the national positions. My second career was healthcare software development & we traveled a good bit. Every 2 years I would type up a list of all the candidates for all races with backgrounds, etc. They all knew I was Rep., but I approached the list as if I was teaching students. Unbiased. Just the facts. We all voted absentee. We would all meet for dinner one night a few weeks before the election & I would pass them out & answer any questions. Until the election, I would get emails, voice mails, etc from other depts wanting my cheat sheets. Every 2 yrs. my group grew by dozens of people. Most all of them never voted down ballot because they were too busy to educate themselves. College educated human beings that were too busy raising children, living lives, etc. Although I’m retired now, I still get emails / voice mails, every 2 yrs & I send it to them. I think I’m going to start doing this again, but open it up to my neighborhood, as well.

Well, we can’t allow this any longer. We must encourage down ballot voting because voting suppression is being fueled at the local & state levels. We must purge our state houses of any & all pol that favor voting suppression. They’re so blatant about it we need to take note now so we can vote them out. The closer we get to an election, they will act as if they weren’t part of the group that voted for voting restrictions.

We must protect the voting rights of all Americans, especially those most vulnerable. Voting down ballot is crucial for this. We can’t leave everything up to the federal govt to handle because Reps r too busy playing games.

I am wondering - is Joe Manchin our version of Lindsey Graham? He seems to be enjoying his leverage a bit too much. Is there some unknown pressure made to encourage him to conduct himself in such an undemocratic manner?
