With every comment Manchin and Sinema make, I'm becoming more certain that our country is going to collapse. They are nothing more than ego driven media whores, enjoying the spotlight and the power they have. If they vote to change the rules, they become less relevant, and to them, that's more unacceptable than the loss of our country, as we know it. If I hear the phrase, our friends across the aisle, one more time, I'm going to scream. Democrats, in general, and these two, in particular, seem to be the only people to not know that we have no friends across the aisle. We are in a battle for the literal soul of our nation, and the Democrats are bringing plastic forks, while the Republicans are bring nuclear bombs. In their desperate cry for bipartisanship, they don't even realize that President Biden's agenda, has that kind of support among the citizens of this country. Ironically, these are the same people that these jackasses are supposed to represent. Color me hopeless.
That the fate of this nation, indeed of democracy itself, is in the hands of these two self-serving and unenlightened hypocrites, Manchin and Sinema, is beyond absurd.
Well, how do we change this, Steven Beschloss? One big step would be for mainstream American journalists to step up to their responsibilities. They need to stop bending over backwards in their attempts to appear "objective" by lobbing softball questions and then repeating the blather that comes out of the mouths of the likes of these two. Reporters need to ask probing questions and to demand answers. Enough of this nonsense!
